About the organizers
The 2009 OPEC International Seminar is the fourth in a series of international academic seminars organized by OPEC since 2001. Building on the success of previous years, the 2009 Seminar focuses on global energy trends and the leading challenges facing the oil industry today and in the future -- including the environment, the role of financial markets, technological innovation and sustainable development.
The Seminar brings together officials from national governments and international organizations, as well as business leaders, academics and media representatives, for two days of rigorous discussions, presentations and debates.
OPEC has made tremendous efforts to engage the participation of a broad range of prominent energy analysts, economists and other industry specialists. Their participation, and the expert preparation of event materials, promises to make the 2009 Seminar insightful, stimulating and highly valuable.
